To all wine lovers and beginners:
The Brothers and Sisters of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 130 invite you to join us at 7:00 pm on November 5, 2011 for an enjoyable evening of fine wine, good food, raffles and a silent auction: All to benefit the students of the area as well as the Leah Marie Bollin Memorial Award at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan . The Bollin Award benefits students with Epilepsy as well as those with learning disabilities and gives six one thousand dollar scholarships a year to deserving students. FOP 130 also awards at least five scholarships a year to deserving students. The need has never been greater due to today’s economy and we are committed to helping these students pursue their dream.
The evening will consist of three distributors providing you with some of their finest wines to sample. A Sommelier will be present to answer your questions about wine, how to store it, the types of glasses to use, how to prepare and store the glasses, a description of the different types of wine, how to taste wine, and other hints on how to make your wine tasting experience a memorable one.
The buffet will include a number of items designed to enhance the tasting experience by allowing you to match the food with the wine. Of course we will have the fruit, cheeses, crackers, shrimp and many other items as well as desert to make the evening a great experience.
We will also be having 50/50 raffles, door prizes and a great silent auction that will give you the chance to bid on wine baskets, golf packages, sports memorabilia, restaurant certificates, pottery, Motor City Casino overnight stay, and many other items yet to be collected.

Child ID Program will be on site to make Child ID packets containing fingerprints, DNA swabs, pictures, videos, etc of your child in case of emergency.

Congratulation to FOP 130 Brother Earl Sparkman on receiving the Herb Adams Member of the Year Award for 2009. The award was designed to recognize outstanding service to one’s home Lodge, either from a Regular Member or an Associate Member. Nominations must be submitted by the local Lodge Presidents.
FOP 130 President Patrick Lemke was happy to nominate Earl on behalf of the Lodge for the award. Out of over 15,000 Members of the FOP in Michigan, Brother Sparkman was selected to receive this recognition.
